My Story

I have been working as a Social Worker since 1996. I started out in Pennsylvania after graduating from Penn State University. At that time, I worked with children with Autism and the developmentally disabled. When I moved to Florida in 1999, I worked with adults with severe persistent mental illness for a period of time before finding a job I absolutely loved, as a child welfare Case Manager, and eventually a Supervisor. I was solicited by the Guardian ad Litem program to supervise the first Transitioning Youth Pilot Project in the state of Florida. I returned to school and got my Masters degree from USF in 2009. During my graduate studies, I interned with Hospice, enabling me to have a unique perspective on end of life issues. I later took a job as the Director of a substance abuse clinic, where I also provided individual and group counseling to people dealing with addiction, depression, and anxiety.

Counseling

My areas of expertise include child welfare and child custody issues, divorce, Adoptions, developmental disorders and related behavioral interventions for children, LGBTQ/Gender identity issues, panic disorder/anxiety, cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and childhood trauma, end of life issues, and counseling for substance use disorders. I specialize in helping people identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and stress. I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients, and look forward to helping you. Get in touch to learn more.

Clinical Supervision

I remember a time, all too well, where I had to balance going to school at night, working full time, and completing a clinical internship. To only realize when I finally graduated,  I needed two years of clinical supervision to get licensed in the state of Florida and pay for it?! I fortunately had a great Clinical Supervisor, who worked with me and was knowledgeable, flexible and kind. I want to make your clinical supervision experience comfortable and enjoyable. I will work with you on payments and scheduling to the best of my ability and financial needs. I want to be the person you can call on to help you through the daunting state licensure exam and the one that you feel comfortable speaking to about your new journey as a therapist. We will discuss client approaches, ethical dilemmas, and agency issues, while knowing that you have an open comfortable space to talk without repercussions. I will be understanding and flexible with you as we meet weekly to get you licensed!
